Costa Rica Fishing | The Angler’s Paradise Costa Rica fishing can indeed be termed as the angler’s paradise. Costa Rica has a vast resource of fish in its huge stretches of lakes, seas and ocean. Be it deep sea fishing or fresh water fishing Costa Rica fishing has it all. Due to the large scale in which Costa Rica fishing is carried out there are several formal units of Costa Rica fishing. There is a wide variety of fish that are available in Costa Rica like the Sailfish, Wahoo, Billfish, Roosterfish, Marlin, Dolphins, Tuna, Cubera, Snapper, Blue runners, Snook and various other unusual fish. When it comes to Costa Rica fishing there are a few special areas that contribute in a major way to it. The North, Central and South Pacific and the Caribbean are the four primary areas where Costa Rica fishing is generally carried out and these areas will help us to get a better understanding of the Costa Rica fishing. Pacific Fishing While considering the Costa Rica fishing in the Pacific area you will realize that this area has some of the best resources for the most interesting fishing experience. Some of the most popular ports of the Pacific area that is used for Costa Rica fishing are Flamingo, Carrillo, Coco, Ocotal, Tamarindo, Golfito, Dominical, Punta Leona, Puntarenas, Zancudo, Quepos and Manuel Antonio, Drake Bay, Zancudo and Tambor. North Pacific Fishing The primary center for Costa Rica fishing is the stretch between Gulf of Papagayo Flamingo Beach and Cabo Blanca that has a complete marina option. This further facilitates Costa Rica fishing. However, there are other ports too from where the Costa Rica fishing boats move out like Tamarindo, Brasilito, Potrero, Coco, Ocotal and several other junctures in between. As you move south you will find Costa Rica fishing commencing from points like Carrillo beach, Garza, Nozara and Sámara located beyond Cabo Blanco. This area is secure during the windy time period between December and April. During this period you are likely to find boats from the northern area engaged in Costa Rica fishing in this area for convenience and a better catch. The fish resource at the North Pacific area There are various types of fish that you are likely to find during your Costa Rica fishing experience in the North Pacific area. Different fish have different seasons of abundance. It is quite interesting to know the best season for each popular species that you will get during the Costa Rica fishing trip. Sailfish can be found in this area all round the year with the time period between May and August being the peak season. In Costa Rica fishing Dorado or Dolphins can be found in plenty during the rains i.e. between the latter half of May and October. Costa Rica fishing in the Papayago bay area is popular for its Roosterfisch that can be found in abundance during the months from November to March. This species can also be found in the other parts and during other seasons though the quantity may not be as high. Marlin is found at all times but has a peak season in August, September and between the middle of November and the first half of March. The duration between August and October is perhaps the best season of Costa Rica fishing for catching Tuna. However, Tuna abounds in plenty almost throughout the year. Wahoo can be noticed from the commencement of the rainy season in the month of May with the best season being July and August.
